The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) becomes the latest organization to join hands with the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) in a nationwide campaign against bribery.
At the soft-launch this morning, CEO Mr Tevita Kuruvakadua thanked FICAC for choosing TLTB to be one of the centers of what is termed as the “I don’t accept bribes” campaign.
Mr Kuruvakadua said it was important to create awareness within TLTB so that we can all champion and advocate against bribery and other corruptive activities.
“It’s a great pleasure to see FICAC and TLTB coming together to launch this initiative. For us, it’s very important to TLTB to remind our staff to be focused and engaged in excellent land management services to meet the expectation of all our stakeholders.
“It will help us to improve our service delivery with efficiency, transparency and accountability. It will also take away a lot of wastage and make us working towards a very productive and innovative organization that can contribute to our national economic development.
Mr Kuruvakadua confirmed the TLTB’s stand on the fight against corruption by saying that the Board has a zero-tolerance appetite against corruptive activities and this will continue.
FICAC Deputy Commissioner Mr Rashmi Aslam thanked TLTB for being committed and giving that level of support without any condition.
“Based on the commitment and support that we are getting, we can see there is a change of attitude at the very highest level.
“In my 10 years of service, this year is my best year because of the relationship that we are creating personally as well as an organization.
Mr Aslam said this initiative would make things easier and gives confidence to the citizens of this country.
As part of the launch, Mr Aslam then pinned the “I don’t accept bribes” badge to the Executive Management and the Senior Management Team before it is carried down the organizational hierarchy in the next few days.
