An awareness and consultation session was conducted at Bocalevu Primary School as part of TLTB’s visibility effort to the farming community in Wailevu, Labasa.
The awareness was attended by the Bocalevu farmers who were given the opportunity to register their queries and issues and a viable solution was devised to meet customer expectations.
Acting Manager North Mr Buinimasi Bese said their trip was important as it provided them an opportunity to listen to the voice of its people on the ground.
The purposes of this consultation were:
(i) To listen and address their complaints and queries on all itaukei land and lease related matters;
(ii) To discuss expiring leases and resolving long-standing disputes;
(iii) To arrange the payment of arrears;
(iv) To seek suggestions from TLTB stakeholders on how best it can further improve on its land management services; and,
(v) To clarify its role in line with current policies, procedures and relevant legislations.
It is an initiative by the Board to discuss issues openly and share ideas of common interest to enable socio-economic development in support of Fiji’s “post-COVID” economic recovery.
